Previously we were listed in two categories in iTunes, Golden Oldies and Hits of the 70s,80s,90s. Apple has gone through the listings and limited stations to one category and we now are only listed in the “Hits” section.

Sorry for the lack of updates as there wasn’t much to report the past few months. The new computer for KONA is still working great. Our music Library is now over 7,200 tracks. The summer doldrums is lifting and listener rates have been climbing steadily the past few days.

Having some connection issues with the ISP today. I’ll try to launch the AUTO DJ if I can access it via other means. Sorry for the interruptions in service.

Thanks to your listenrship KONA Radio has now surpased 12,000 Total Listener hours per month. In addition to our inclusion on iTunes in the Golden Oldies section, we are now listed in the “Hits of the 70s 80s and 90s” . Thanks for your patronage!

I’ve just set up and put into place the new computer for KONA Radio.  The previous computer was pushing 5 years old and it was time for a change. iTunes. Still listed and it’s really boosted our numbers. Our TLH (total listener hours) are well over 10,000 per month. YAY! Look for us under the Golden Oldies section.

New music. Way too much to mention. There are now about 6700 tracks which equates to about 17 days of nonstop music.

2008 saw a lot of growth in KONA Radio’s playlist and listenership. We went from about 5800 tracks to over 6400 further expanding our 60s and 70s tunes. In November our station was added to iTunes under the Golden Oldies category. Listener rates have nearly doubled from 6 to 12 listeners over a 24 hour period. Total Listener hours went from 4,000 to nearly 9,000 hours a month. Thanks for your support and keep listening!

Today has been pretty bad with the buffer underruns. I would hope tomorrow my connection gets better. Thankfully the Auto-DJ has v been there to help out.

Yet again I am faced with ISP issues. Seems when outside temps are very warm I lose my DSL for 10 seconds every 20-30 minutes at a whack. At it’s worse on SUnday I had to activate the AUTO-DJ and stream music from there. The quality is not as good due to a lack of sound processing, but hey it beats dead air. I hope to have our issues resolved soon.
