KONA Stream

KONA Radio is a streaming music station running 24/7. We are licensed via Loudcity and pay our royalty fees. As of August 2008 we have about 5700 tracks in our playlist. The format is mainstream pop and rock from the 60s,70s, and 80s. We also have covers,parodies,mashups,country,soundtrack and a smattering of 90s music thrown in.

Our Clockwheel insures that our collection is play proportionately according to tempo. We have 3 categories of music: UpTempo, Slow tempo, and odd. Odd includes the mashups, parodies and so forth. A set is four songs long. there are 4 sets of up tempo and 3 sets of slow tempo. So , our clock wheel rotation looks like this:

( 1 odd  song )

A total of 29 songs, 7 station IDs and up to 7 sponsor plugs are played each rotation. A rotation takes about 90 minutes to complete making it about 15 rotations a day.
